"Monteverde In Motion" is an education and intervention project developed by our Community Health Program as a response to research findings indicating a high level of health problems in the local population due to inactivity. Heart disease, diabetes and obesity are just a few of the problems exacerbated by limited options for physical activity.
This project aims to organize and empower neighborhood groups, typically led by women, to develop physical activity routines that are age, geographically and culturally relevant. These groups will also be aided by experts who will provide insights on good nutrition and safe exercise, as well as implement routine body measurements in order to track progress.
